The latest refurbishments at Freda Carr Hospital are nearing completion. The out-patients department, the private wing and the staff accommodation have all been upgraded.

Only about half the hospital staff live in accommodation at the hospital, as the former staff quarters had fallen into disrepair. The derelict buildings have been refurbished, with running hot and cold running water and electricity. These changes will improve recruitment and retention.
