During his visit, Jim presented a Paul Harris Fellowship to Sebastian Waibi, who has worked at Kamuli Mission Hospital for 50 years and for most of that time he has been the only anaesthetist at the hospital.

Dr Jim McWhirter has visited Uganda 13 times over the last 7 years.  During his current visit, Jim presented a Paul Harris Fellowship to Mr Sebastian Waibi,  who has administered anaesthetics at Kamuli Mission Hospital for nearly 50 years.  Sebastian is the only anaesthetist at Kamuli and is still on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The award was on behalf of the Rotary Doctor Bank and was made possible by donations from the Rotary Clubs of Cardiff, Cardiff Bay, Cardiff St Davids, Henley Bridge and Porthcawl.

Dr Angel Garcia-Forcada, a consultant physician from Toledo, Spain has returned from Kitovu Hospital.  Please look at “Reports from Volunteers”  to read Dr Garcia-Forcada’s report.

Mr Tom Dehn and a surgical team from the Royal Berkshire Hospital have arrived at Naggallama Hospital in Uganda.  This is the second time that the team have visited Naggallama.  They have also visited Kamuli Hospital and a hosital in Northern India.

Dr Angel Garcia Forcada, a consultant physician from Toledo, Spain has returned to Spain following his three week stay at Kitovu Hospital.  Angel has reported that the new X-ray unit is working well and there is a big improvement in the quality of the x-rays and the scans.  This is the fourth time that Angel has visited Kitovu Hospital.
